We need help to make the morning of 9 June a very Good Morning indeed, as we celebrate John Lennon’s song about starting the day.
From 7.30am to noon, we want the city centre to be full of music, street theatre and dance, to give people an uplifting start to the day.
Performers will be stationed at key transport hubs, greeting people arriving in the city by train, bus, ferry, and also at points where pedestrian traffic is busy with commuters and shoppers.
We’re especially keen to work with and promote fresh talent.
If you are aged 16 and over and a young musician with original material and the ability to perform outdoors with minimal tech demands (and no rider!), or a group that can dance or perform early in the morning with a big smile, we’d love to hear from you.
In addition, we are also looking for people who are game for an early morning laugh to act as artist support and stewards – with a difference.
You will need to be an early riser, energetic, happy to be silly and serious at the same time, and willing and able to play a kazoo.
Oh, and you will also need to wear a chicken suit onesie in public without embarrassment.
If you fancy all that, and are available between 7am and noon on Friday, 9 June and for a 90 minute briefing and rehearsal session on the weekend of 3-4 June, please email [email protected] letting him know which of the participation elements you are interested in, together with your contact details.
